Understand your Restaurant Setup progress, what the required setup tasks mean, and how to use the checklist before taking orders.
Before you begin
Sign in to your Owner Dashboard and open the Dashboard section.
The Restaurant Setup checklist is a readiness guide. It helps you see which important restaurant configuration areas have been completed and which still need attention.
Step 1 — Find Restaurant Setup
On the Owner Dashboard, locate the Restaurant Setup panel near the top of the main dashboard area.

Step 2 — Check your completion percentage
The percentage shows your overall progress through the required setup tasks. A completed setup displays 100% Complete.
If the percentage is below 100%, review the remaining setup items before relying on the restaurant as fully configured.
Step 3 — Review the required setup areas
Your Restaurant Setup can include the following important areas:
- Restaurant details — your restaurant’s core business information.
- Opening hours — when customers can place or schedule orders.
- Menu categories — how your menu is organised.
- Menu items — the products customers can order.
- Currency — the currency used for restaurant pricing and payments.
- Google Maps — location and delivery-related map configuration.
- Stripe payments — card-payment configuration when Stripe is used.
- WhatsApp — restaurant communication configuration when enabled.
Each setup area has its own detailed Menushell guide. Do not guess API, payment or operational settings simply to mark an item complete.
Step 4 — Understand Completed and incomplete items
An item marked Completed indicates that Menushell recognises the required setup for that checklist item as complete. Items that are not complete still require attention.
A completed checklist is a setup indicator. You should still review important restaurant information whenever your opening hours, menu, location, payment setup or other business details change.
Step 5 — Open the full checklist
Select View Full Checklist to review your restaurant setup in more detail. Use the checklist to identify the next configuration task that needs attention.
Step 6 — Complete one setup task at a time
Work through incomplete items individually. Follow the dedicated guide for that setup area, save and verify the change, then return to the checklist to review your progress.
For a new restaurant, completing setup in a controlled order makes troubleshooting easier. Avoid changing several payment, map, menu or fulfilment settings at the same time.
Step 7 — Confirm restaurant readiness
When all required tasks are complete, the Restaurant Setup panel can show 100% Complete and confirm that the required setup is complete.
How to check it worked
Return to the Owner Dashboard and review Restaurant Setup. Confirm that the expected tasks show as completed and that the overall progress reflects your current setup.
You now know how to use Restaurant Setup as your starting point for configuring and reviewing your restaurant.
If a task does not show as completed
Open the relevant setup area and check that all required information has been entered and saved. Then return to the Dashboard and review the checklist again.
If you are unsure what a setup item requires
Use the dedicated Menushell guide for that item before making changes. If the guide does not resolve the issue, contact Menushell Support and tell us which Restaurant Setup item is not completing.
